The Hospital for Sick Children has begun utilizing 3D printed heart models to assist doctors in the management of patients with complex congenital heart disease. Doctors now have a new tool to diagnose and plan treatment strategies for these patients, some with the rarest and most complex heart defects. Surgeons are able to now operate an infinite amount of times on replica models of their patients before heading into the OR.

These shots were commissioned for the hospital’s brand new website, with the intent of informing the rest of the medical world of the groundbreaking work being performed at SickKids in Toronto.
