The Hospital for Sick Children has a rich history in simulation for airway surgery. Previously animals had been used in training for airway surgery. Due to anatomical differences from humans, cost, availability, and ethics, the innovation of 3D printing has become an attractive and viable option for simulated airway surgeries.

This shoot was commissioned by SickKids for a website to showcase how 3D printed human neck and airway simulators can offer learners a realistic experience without concern for any of the limitations seen with live animals.
